Measures provided for by law
There are a set of measures established by Portuguese law that office 365 email address data that have employees with minor children must take into account:

Parental Leave
Initial Parental Leave: 120 consecutive days paid at 100% of salary or 150 consecutive days paid at 80% of salary, for the birth of a child;
Extended Parental Leave: duration of three months, paid at 25% of salary, to care for a child under the age of six;
Exclusive Father's Leave: 15 working days during the month following the birth of the child (5 must be taken immediately after the birth).
Way of Working
Teleworking: Employees with children under 3 years old can choose to work from home or with flexible hours, as long as the role is compatible and the company has the necessary means to do so;
Part-time: Possibility of working for 12 months, half of a full schedule, to care for a child under the age of six, with the corresponding proportional loss of remuneration;
Reduction of five hours of work per week to care for a child with a disability or chronic illness, under the age of one year (medical certificate required);
Exemption from providing additional work for employees with children aged 1 year or younger.
Breastfeeding Exemption
Daily leave for breastfeeding until the child is one year old, with a maximum duration of one hour each, at two different times of the day or agreed with the employer.
Right to Absence from Work
up to four hours, once per quarter, to travel to the minor child's educational establishment;
up to 15 days per year for assistance in the event of illness or accident for a 12-year-old child (the daily allowance corresponds to 65% of the usual salary);
up to 30 days per year or during the entire period of hospitalization for assistance due to illness or accident, for a child under 12 years of age or, regardless of age, for a child with a disability or chronic illness (the daily allowance corresponds to 65% of the usual remuneration).
Measures that the Company can Implement
Some companies want to help their employees better balance their family and professional lives, so they implement measures within the scope of their internal social responsibility and human resources policy.
However, be aware that not all measures involve financial investment. Some of these benefits can be implemented using the company's existing facilities and other resources.
