As a software marketplace, we place great value on the credibility of user reviews: The transparency of reviews and the authenticity of reviewers are our top priority. Our review verification process is designed to ensure that every review represents a genuine user opinion.
Our commitment to honest reviews includes the following:
More than 2 million verified user ratings and reviews, guaranteeing a wide range of in-depth opinions.
More than 30 human quality assurance (QA) moderators who capture and carefully review country email list each review.
More than 20 verification checks per review to confirm the authenticity of each submission.
Advanced technologies and processes to check text quality and detect plagiarism as well as the use of generative AI.
Our process for collecting user reviews
At Capterra, we understand the importance of diverse perspectives to making an informed decision.
To ensure a broad range of opinions, we collect reviews in two ways:
1. Non-incentivized reviews
Any software user can leave a review for any product listed on our website. All submitted reviews go through our QA process before publication.
2. Incentivized reviews
Software users are invited to leave honest reviews and are offered a small reward as a thank you for their time and effort.
All reviewers receive the reward once their review is published, regardless of how they rated a product. All incentivized reviews go through our QA process before publication.
Small rewards encourage participation from users who might not otherwise submit a review. This helps us gather a broader range of perspectives on a large portfolio of software offerings.
How we verify reviews
Through our verification process, we aim to ensure that each review represents the genuine experiences of real software users. We do this by following these steps:
1. We confirm the identity of the reviewer
Our identity verification process includes:
A robust QA moderation system running in the background
Our QA moderation team uses a combination of manual reviews and complementary services to confirm that each reviewer is a real person with real experience with the product. The team also flags conflicts of interest and AI-generated personas.
If the identity of a reviewer cannot be confirmed and/or a conflict of interest is identified, the review will be disqualified and not published.
