The coordinators and professors of the university network of which FUNIBER is a part share with us a summary of the challenges and achievements of 2021, both in the professional and academic fields.

In the document Learnings for 2022 , we also published some articles in which they analyze the scenarios for next year in their professional and academic fields; a guiding document to understand how we are moving forward in vocational training.

The Academic Area of Companies of the University Network promoted by FUNIBER closes 2021 with 26 study programs located at the educational levels of linkedin database Degree and Postgraduate (Specialization, Master's and Doctorate). 90% of these degrees are taught online and the remaining 10% are offered in a blended or in-person mode.

The work projection for 2022 revolves around three main axes:

Expand the academic offering with programs focused on training that adds value to companies. Highlighting, for example, that in February 2022 we started the Master in Data Science applied to Business Intelligence .
Increase the number of study programmes in Portuguese, in order to promote training opportunities in Portuguese-speaking countries (mainly Brazil and Portuguese-speaking Africa). For example, in the first quarter of this year, we will begin offering the Master's Degree in Consulting and Organisational Development and the Master's Degree in Digital Marketing and Big Data .
Consolidate the current academic offering through continuous improvement of the technological-pedagogical model, in a commitment to quality teaching.

The offer of these programs responds to the training demands perceived by specialists in the area. As stated by specialists Dr. Emmanuel Soriano, Elizabeth Caro and Dr.(c) Carmen Lili Rodríguez, regarding the most relevant topics throughout the year, "the impact of these issues on socioeconomic activity is undeniable in most countries, however, it particularly conditions the public policies promoted by the different Nation-States."

Environment

Dr. Eduardo García Villena, Coordinator of the Environment and Sustainability Area, writes: “The Glasgow agreements of last November represent, once again, a flight forward, once again postponing financing for adaptation in developing countries, which has already been an endemic issue year after year.” In this context, the Academic Area of Environment and Sustainability refers to the challenge and, at the same time, opportunity that the pandemic represents for facing climate change, emphasizing the need to reach international agreements to achieve a more equitable distribution and greater reallocation of funds, for the readaptation towards a fairer and more sustainable economic model in the fight against climate change.

Communication

As stated by Pablo Olinik, Coordinator of the Academic Department of Communication, “the acceleration of the digitalization processes of communication, derived from the needs that arose during the pandemic, has put on the table the importance of working to reduce technological and communication gaps.” He comments in his article how FUNIBER has adapted to the demands to advance in processes in order to “expand teaching availability and generate audiovisual content.”
