Today I'm going to tell you how to install and configure a plugin that will reinforce the security of your WordPress dashboard. It's called Admin Block Country and I've defined it as an international security plugin.

I have stopped using this plugin because it gave me an error.
My WordPress admin login screen was blank, making it impossible for me to log into my WordPress.
Now I use another plugin that does the same function, called IP2Location Country Blocker.
Just because I've had this error doesn't mean you'll have the same problem, but I'd rather warn you about it!
What is Admin Block Country for?
Admin Block Country is a plugin that allows you to improve the security of your website. Its job is to block access to your WordPress admin panel from other countries. This way, you can make sure that no one can access your website from outside the country you reside in.
That is why I have titled this post “International Security Plugin”.
Below I will explain how to install and configure this extension.
You'll see how simple it is!
Installing the plugin
First, you need to log in to your WordPress admin panel.

Next, in the settings panel on the left, look for the shortcut called Plugins and position the mouse over it. A drop-down menu will open and you have to click on Add new .

In the search box type Admin Block Country. A list of plugins will load.
Select the first one that appears and click Install Now . Once installed, a blue button will appear with the text Activate . Click on it.

In case you missed it, here is a brief summary of the steps to follow after logging into your WordPress account.
Plugins → Add New → Search Admin Block Country → Install Now → Activate
Now check that it has been installed correctly. To do this, go back to the Plugins shortcut and click on Installed Plugins .

Here you will see a list of all the plugins you have installed and you will be able to check that Admin Block Country has been added to the list.
A new shortcut will also have been created from the left panel of your WordPress.

From now on I will explain how to configure the plugin you just added.
Plugin Configuration
Now it's time to configure Admin Block Country according to your localization preferences.
Click inside Block Country , the new shortcut that has been created when you activated the plugin.
Before continuing, I will open a small parenthesis:
Please note that by default you cannot restrict access from the country you reside in . The plugin uses a geolocation to detect which country you are in and thus prevent you from blocking access to your website.
I close the parenthesis and we continue.
You will now be seeing a multi-column list with a bunch of countries.
At this point you have two options:
1st. Block access to all countries (except yours).
To do this, click Select All and then click the Block button .

2. You are changing countries but you want to continue having access to your WordPress.
In this case you should leave the country you are going to unchecked.
For example, you have to travel to Paris for a week for work. During that week you have planned to publish several short posts about the activities you are doing in the “city of love”.
In this case you can click on Select All . Then look for France and uncheck the country . Finally click on Block .

You will now have your WordPress admin panel protected with the international security plugin.
