The city of Chicago recently made available a service called OpenGrid , which allows users to consult various administrative information, such as health inspections carried out, the location of potholes in the asphalt, road closures, among many others. The city of Rio has an open data portal that contains a variety of information about what is happening in the city, from an informational perspective. The idea is to encourage the use of this data through applications that may be useful to some segment of society. By displaying this information, decisions can be made to improve the lives of those who use it, allowing these people to be more active in society, having great economic importance, enabling business decisions and being of great value to both citizens and the government itself.
