Instead of deleting your competitors' listing and wasting time on bad PR, focus on effectively positioning your company listing to get ahead of them. Don't have time for that? We're here to help! Check out our Google listing positioning service .

Deleting a business listing with access - via the Google My Business panel from the owner level
Have you closed your business and want to remove your business listing from maps so as not to mislead potential customers? If you have access to your profile, in this method I will show you step by step how to remove your Google listing using your Google My Business profile (now Google Business Panel). This method is very reliable for Google. A profile that is verified and has a long history on Google maps allows you to believe that Google can trust you and that your actions are not a coincidence.

STEP 1: Log in to your Google My Business account
First, you need to log in to the Google account that has the business listing you want to remove. You can do this at this URL:

STEP 2: Selecting a Google listing to delete
If you have two or more listings, in this step, in the Google My Business panel, select the listing you want to delete.

By clicking on " Mark business as permanently closed":

The business card will virtually disappear from Google search results.
The visibility of the business card will drop by 90-99%.
You will still be able to find it, but it will be more difficult.
The opening hours will disappear, but not the phone number. If you don't want customers to call you, it's best to remove the contact phone number as well.
Temporarily closing your business means that you can reopen it at any time if you resume operations.
The search engine will display information that the company has been permanently closed.
Reviews of a business will not disappear until Google overseas chinese in worldwide data removes the listing after determining that the business does not exist. How quickly will your application be reviewed? It can take days, weeks, or even a month or a year.

By clicking on " Remove Content and Profile Managers" :

The business card will be removed from your Google account.
You will lose the ability to manage it in Search and Google Maps, but the listing will still be visible on Google to potential customers.
If you were the sole owner, all photos and entries you added will be permanently deleted.
If you want to manage your listing again, you will need to go through the Google business verification process — the so-called listing takeover
Tip: Before marking your business as permanently closed, it's best to clear your listing of everything possible - this will increase the chances that your listing will receive the fewest views, which will speed up the removal of your listing by Google.

An additional method is also to contact Google in advance and inform them that you are closing your business permanently and want to remove your listing from Google. If you ask for help in the process of deleting your Google listing, they will most likely ask you to complete the following process → "Mark as permanently closed" → "Remove listing".

After completing these steps, contact Google support again and inform them that you have completed the entire process and the business card will be completely deleted by Google employees.

Deleting a Google Maps listing without having access rights
This stage is much more complicated, so I have broken it down into two parts to make it easier for you to assess which path you want to choose and which one is right for you.

The first method will show you how to remove your business listing from Google if you have the ability to verify the listing or can otherwise confirm ownership of the listing.

The second method will show you how to report a Google listing that you do not have access to and how to mark it as permanently closed or as non-existent in the real world.

Method 1: Deleting a business card with the ability to verify company ownership
In this process, if you are not the business owner, before you can delete the listing, you must first access the business profile. You can usually access the listing by sending a verification code to the business address or by recording a verification video. Sometimes it happens that you can send it to an email address or a business phone number. So let's get to the process itself.

STEP 1: Search for your company
In the first step, you need to find your business listing in Google search engine. Enter in the search engine the keyword that your Google listing or your business name is displayed for.

STEP 2: Click that you are the owner
If you were able to find the listing, click that you are the business owner and want to verify ownership so you can manage it.

Method 1

Go through the entire process and fill out all the necessary information that Google asks you for. At the very end, Google will ask you to choose a method for verifying your listing.

Method 2

It may turn out that someone else is already managing the listing. In that case, you should send a request to the current owner to grant rights to the listing. If no one responds within 3 days, you can become its owner after that time.
